Job Summary

As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for general bookkeeping including maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger. The most successful people will have a strong understanding of the intricacies of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial transactions within an organization. He or she will play an enormously important supportive role, keeping our company’s financial outlook bright with precise and proactive measures.

Requirements

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Accounts payable management for multiple entities including processing invoices due for payment, establishing and maintaining vendor relationships and preparing vendor invoice reconciliations.
  • Monthly reconciliation of accounts payable, credit cards, employee expense reports and other balance sheet accounts
  • Review income statement to verify account balances and explanations for variances to prior periods and budget 
  • Work with internal/external business partners monthly to determine accruals and adjustments on the income statement
  • Assist in preparing monthly journal entries needed to close books
  • Prepare fixed asset journal entries for additions and depreciation and reconcile fixed assets to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and/or reconcile daily bank deposits for incoming funds
  • As required by changing business needs, perform various other account analyses and reconciliations
  • Provide accounting support for external audits and third-party requests for information


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

2+ years of professional accounting experience

Proficient with excel

Vendor and customer reconciliations experience

Strong communication skills
