Position Description 

The U.S. Soccer Federation is seeking a Coordinator, Major Gifts - responsible for supporting all areas of the development process for the Major Gifts team. This individual will provide direct support for two Major Gift Directors that each have portfolios of donors capable of gifts of $25,000 and above. The Coordinator, Major Gifts, will ensure best practices of major gift fundraising are implemented and will contribute to a culture of philanthropic excellence. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Major Gifts team and other U.S. Soccer Development staff to help U.S. Soccer achieve its annual and campaign fundraising goals 
  • Directly support two Major Gifts Directors in all aspects of major gift fundraising, including prospecting, meeting scheduling, event planning and execution, database management, reporting, donor communication, pledge reminders, gift agreements, and provide high-level customer service support to major gift supporters, donors, and donor prospects
  • Manage content and distribution of monthly development communications and collaborate across departments to develop and execute communications strategies around unique programs and campaigns
  • Update and maintain U.S. Soccer’s database of donors and donor prospects. 
  • Support in the planning and management of unique, high-access special events for donors and donor prospects
  • Assist with miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Up to 25% potential travel within region 
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 1-2 years of successful professional fundraising experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking, combined with a professional demeanor and active listening skills
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail 
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Database management and experience with Salesforce a plus 
  • Ticketing experience a plus


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in working on a comprehensive capital campaign
  • General knowledge of soccer
  • Comfortable communicating with C-level executives and high net-worth individuals
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
