Description

 Position Summary:

The Content Coordinator position will be responsible for writing clear and concise content for various media channels. The ideal candidate is an artist with words, able to inspire action, raise awareness, and relay a multitude of information in a small space. This is a fast-paced work environment with daily content creation deadlines, so working quickly and accurately, both independently and collaboratively, is key. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Project Specialist to conceive, develop, and produce effective advertising campaigns.
  • Create and present storyboards of ideas.
  • Write clear, inspiring, and persuasive copy for websites, social media, brochures, ads, and other means of advertising.
  • Update and manage website copy, including links, SMS auto-responses, website redirects, etc.
  • Perform search engine optimization techniques.
  • Update daily tasks in the department's project management software.
  • Respond to feedback in a timely manner while revising, editing, and proofreading content as needed or directed by client.
  • Explore different ideas and concepts for both visual and verbal elements in tandem with the creative team.
  • Write video/tv scripts and assist with film day coordination. 
  • Explore potential story leads across all campuses and ministries and create compelling content across multiple platforms, including blogs, YouTube, websites, etc.
  • Determine what makes ministries and the  church appealing and share their story.
  • Champion the value of storytelling among staff, the volunteer team, and Rock Church as a whole.
  • Collaborate as a member of the Creative Team on themes, concepts and content for all-church events, initiatives, and ministry efforts.
  • Provide content for all-church communication channels, including website, emails, bulletin, etc.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a volunteer content team and support the Writer’s Ministry team.
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for all-church messaging.
  • Develop a style guide and keep it current as a go-to source of information for grammar, spelling, basic facts, leadership bios, etc.
  • Coordinate with vendors and ministries to print and distribute assets as needed.

Requirements

  Job-related Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields English, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising or writing.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a copywriter or writer for a company or church is required.
  • Portfolio of writing samples and/or press releases required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for MAC (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality as appropriate.


Organizational and Spiritual Requirements:

  • Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity.
  • Utilize the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinion with others. 
  • Successful completion of a thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which includes: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry.
  • Attendance at all mandatory meetings  and events. This includes serving  at Good Friday, Easter and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event.
  • Contributing Member of Rock Church or willing to become one.
  • Regular involvement in Rock Church activities, ministries and events.
  • Tithe 10% to the Rock Church.
  • Signed acknowledgment of the Rock’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to the Rock’s policies, procedures and employee handbook. 
  • Be self-motivated and goal oriented, use good judgment, and be flexible and innovative.
  • Professional attitude and demeanor.

Physical Requirements:
