What you will be doing

The Mobile App Product Owner on APIConect is responsible for the product requirements and enhancement of our mobile applications. You will be responsible for translating the overarching product vision into actionable requirements, guiding the Scrum team through iterative development cycles, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality features that meet the needs of our students and universities.

How you will get the job done

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop detailed requirements — consulting with design, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Create feature backlogs and product documentation such as user stories, use cases, user flows, logic flows, and functional specifications.
  • Use product documentation in weekly design meetings to drive UX discussions and act as the voice of the user.
  • Author agile user stories with acceptance criteria, and iterate on user stories with the Scrum team.
  • Ensure requirements are available and understood by the Scrum team.
  • Test and validate new features as they are being built by the agile team. 
  • Attend scrum meetings including stand-ups, planning, and backlog grooming.
  • Lead backlog grooming to refine and estimate stories.
  • Provide support to users of APIConnect.
  • Become the subject matter expert of our users (students seeking life changing experiences through experiential learning!!)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

What experience you should have

  • 2-5 years of work experience in a related role
  • An organized and systematic problem solver
  • The ability to partner within a multi-functional team that includes engineers, design, QA, marketing, etc.
  • Tech savvy with  prior work experience with Jira (or other agile project management tools), user-facing products, and API interactions in an iterative-based development environment using Scrum.
  • Previous experience in coordinating changes across large, cross-functional groups to ensure the greatest success for the launch of a product.
  • Passionate about User Centered Design and strives to provide the best user experience possible by simplifying user flows and putting the voice of the user first.
  • An excellent communicator and presenter, with exceptional interpersonal skills and a solid 
  • understanding of business intelligence and the business value of development decisions and how they affect the sales, margin and life-cycle of a product.
