Assistant Controller
Description

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

The Assistant Controller has full responsibility for the following functions:

  • Oversight of AP and AR
    • Weekly oversight of AP for timely payment to       vendors. 
    • Bi-weekly oversight of AR billing process. 
    • Deposit and Payment Process management. 
  • Journal Entries and General Ledger in support of      month end closing process. Including but not limited to inventory, revenue      recognition, payroll accrual, and intercompany entries.
  • Preparing and journalizing fixed asset, amortization,      and depreciation schedules
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Cash management 
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Budget vs actuals analysis
  • Running monthly reports
  • Providing support for internal and external audits
  • Preparing reports and analysis for internal review
  • Assisting with annual budget process
  • Contract and insurance administration
  • Sales and Use Tax filings
  • Processing 1099 information to CPA
  • Management of the Builder Participation process
  • Support on miscellaneous tasks including ad-hoc      coding of Visa Bill, Credit Applications, City Business License      management, Refunds, NSF process, and other such support functions.
Requirements

  Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel,      Word, web-based software, and accounting software 
  • Experience with all duties listed in the job      description
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Wants to be part of a team.

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Construction trade experience with a homebuilder or      subcontractor
  • Experience with escrow, mortgage, and contract      administration (lien releases, waivers, vendor insurance, preliminary      notices, etc.) processes.
  • Experience with cash basis and accrual basis      accounting


Physical Demands:

  • • Ability to sit at computer monitor for long periods throughout the day.
  • • Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time; to reach with hands and arms; to move among and between offices; to handle mail and documents; to sit, stoop, kneel and crouch; to lift and move up to 10 pounds; to see well enough to discern differences in quality of documents and files.

Salary Description
$95,000.00/yr.
