Description

  Job Summary: At Kadean, Project Engineers play a vital role in supporting our Project Managers in successfully managing construction projects. As a PE you are expected to be hands-on in various aspects of the construction process including bidding, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and documentation. You will work closely with our team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Communication and Documentation

· Oversee construction documents, ensuring all team members have the most current set of documents, including addenda, ASIs, and approved proposal requests.

· Record and issue meeting notes from all project meetings to attendees and relevant parties, ensuring clear communication and accountability.

· Read and understand Kadean’s subcontract conditions and the prime contract between Kadean and the Client.

· Maintain a change order log promptly within one week of a report of change events, soliciting and compiling pricing information for changes in the work.

· Assist or manage the process of issuing subcontractors and purchases orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 


2. Safety and Compliance

· Promote safety among all Kadean employees and subcontractors, prioritizing a safe work environment[SF3] . 


3. Scheduling and Coordination 

· Update project schedules weekly, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deadlines.

· Enable and assist Kadean field staff to succeed on every project, promoting a culture of collaboration and support.

· Collaborate with field staff to ensure they have the necessary tools and information to complete tasks effectively.

· Support the Project Manager in various tasks to ensure project success, contributing to tasks such as bidding, budgeting, and scheduling.


4. Continuous Improvement and Relationships

· Seek opportunities for continuous learning and improvement, actively contributing to the enhancement of processes and procedures. 

· Serve as a professional and friendly representative of Kadean, understanding that your behavior and attitude reflect the entire team. 

· Actively seek understanding of all facets of the construction process, asking questions when necessary.

· Maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, designers, and consultants, fostering collaboration and effective communications.


5. Programs and Risk Management

· Analyze, manage, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive identification and resolution.

· Manage submittal log setup, request, review, and distribution, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

· Utilize project management software and the Kadean Public Folder for managing project information and general file storage.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

· Valid state driver’s license with access to reliable transportation.

· Flexibility to travel about 20-30%.


Required Physical Abilities:

· This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses computers, phones, and photocopies, and is and is primarily sedentary. 

· The ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods, frequent walking, bending or standing is necessary.

· Must be able to lift 15lbs at times.


Working Conditions:

· This role is onsite; working from home or remotely is not applicable.
