Role Summary


Rand Technology is seeking a dynamic Global Commodity Manager for Memory, Storage, CPU, and GPU. This position is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement, supply chain, and market trend analysis for these critical technology commodities. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the company's competitive edge in the rapidly evolving tech industry.


Essential Functions

  • Supply Chain Excellence: Develop and execute a global supply chain strategy to ensure a reliable and efficient flow of memory, storage, CPU, and GPU components worldwide.
  • Supplier Network: Leverage an extensive network of specialized suppliers in the electronic components industry to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards.
  • Market Expertise: Lead the company in staying current with emerging market trends in memory, storage, CPU, and GPU technologies; Develop and implement strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Commodity Expertise Development: Recruit, hire, and develop a team of industry experts with in-depth knowledge of memory, storage, CPU, and GPU technologies. Provide ongoing training and mentorship to enhance the team's expertise and awareness of market dynamics.
  • Sales Enablement: Create comprehensive training materials to educate the sales team on the technical aspects, value propositions, and market trends of these commodities.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities specific to Memory, Storage, CPU, and GPU components through strategic negotiations, value engineering, and supply chain optimization.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that suppliers meet and exceed quality and compliance standards for Memory, Storage, CPU, and GPU components, collaborating closely with quality teams to resolve any issues.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Engineering, and Operations, to align procurement strategies with business objectives within the specialized segment.

  • Exceptional market analysis skills specialized in identifying trends and anticipating market shifts within the electronic components sector.
  • Understanding of specialized quality standards and the ability to ensure supplier compliance within this segment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, with a specialized focus.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, specialized in Memory, Storage, CPU, and GPU components.
  • Ability to address complex specialized supply chain challenges and implement effective solutions.
Requirements

Education and/or Experience and Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Global Procurement (Specialize in Memory, Storage, CPU, and GPU components).
  • Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management, specifically in memory, storage, CPU, and GPU commodities.
  • Experience in the electronics industry is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time during the shift.  
  • Finger, wrist and hand dexterity with repetitive motion.
