Human Resources Coordinator

Chmura Economics & Analytics (Chmura) is a leading economic advisory and technology development firm specializing in “big data” analytics. We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide support and services for a broad range of duties required by the Human Resources (HR) Department. This role helps run the daily functions of the HR department including onboarding and offboarding, tracking internal programs, and answering/responding to day-to-day employee inquiries and requests. All activities must be in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA and other regulations, as appropriate. This role reports to our Human Resources Manager



Responsibilities:

  • Submits the visa sponsorship application process (if applicable); create new hire profiles for external sites; complete applicable portions of onboarding checklist.
  • Offboarding: Assign exit interviews via Paylocity; remove employees from HRIS and external sites; HR point of contact for returning company property and coordinating with internal departments/contacts.
  • HRIS database management (updating, processing, and managing information).
  • Responsible for communicating, monitoring and tracking internal programs (Employee Development and Tuition Reimbursement)
  • Point of contact for coordinating employee engagement events; working with HR Manager.
  • Assists with Open Enrollment.
  • Assist in day-to-day HR functions: answering/responding to employee inquiries and requests; sending reminders about time off approval and request; assisting non-exempt staff with timecard corrections; responsible for employee “Shout Out” monitoring and communications
  • In the absence of the HR Manager, participates in employee termination meetings.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Chmura’s policies and procedures.
  • Assist with special projects as requested by HR Manager or Leadership.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1-2 years of human resources experience.
  • Prior experience with the visa sponsorship application process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and to problem solve.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong technical proficiency. Experience with MS Office and HRIS systems experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Paylocity is a plus!
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CHRP, CHRL); or interest in obtaining certification.
