Job Purpose - Resource Central is addressing water issues in Colorado by making waterwise yards the new norm in Colorado. The Crew Lead for the Lawn Replacement program will play an essential role in leading crews to complete lawn removal water conservation projects across the Front Range. This role is geared towards individuals who are willing to learn how to drive a truck and trailer with equipment and yard waste, are passionate about conservation, and will bring a positive attitude towards educating Colorado communities about water-conscious landscapes. This is a field-based role that involves picking up equipment at a central location and then driving to project sites. The compensation is $20-24/hr, plus mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, and paid training and sick leave. 


Principal Responsibilities -
The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Lead and motivate small teams to help implement the largest lawn replacement program in Colorado. 
  • Conduct fieldwork, averaging 5 days per week from April to September, involving the daily operation, driving, and maneuvering of a pickup truck with a 14 ft trailer. We provide training.
  • Safely operate sod cutters and hand tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and picks. Lift and move sections of sod into trailers. Training will be provided.
  • Enforce and adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Traveling to other cities which include an extended commute or overnight stay may be required at times; travel pay and accommodations will be provided.
  • Outstanding customer service; ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times is required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lead a team and maintain a positive and collaborative team environment. 
  • Ability to safely work outdoors in all kinds of weather including high temperatures and rain. 
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds repeatedly, kneel, lift, and bend repeatedly throughout the work week. 


Qualifications

  • Experience driving a truck and trailer preferred, but not required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to qualify for driving responsibilities with valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, daily access to a reliable automobile, and a smartphone required. 
  • Experience in fieldwork, landscaping, or construction preferred. 
  • Must pass a background check and driving record evaluation if offered a position.
