Reports To: Technical Director and Dean of Spiritual Formation

Classification: Part-time, non-exempt

Job Summary: The Worship Team Technical Director provides tech support for worship team rehearsals on Monday and Thursday evenings and chapel on Tuesday and Friday  mornings during the school year (late August through mid-May).


Essential Duties include the following:

  1. Collaboratively helps determine the necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, and projection, necessary for weekly chapels.
  2. Provides tech support for worship team rehearsals on Monday and Thursday evenings, from approximately 7-9 p.m.  Coaches and supervises student tech team during rehearsals.
  3. Supports and supervises student tech team during  Chapel on Tuesdays and Friday mornings, from approximately 10-11:30 a.m. 
  4. Attends periodic / infrequent before-school worship team rehearsals on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6:30-8 a.m.
  5. Monitors the condition of equipment and informs Wheaton Academy if any equipment repair is needed.
  6. Attend Worship Team Retreat (1/2 day) in August.  
  7. Attend all-employee Professional Learning Days in August (approximately 2 days from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
Requirements

The Worship Team Technical Director accepts without verbal or mental reservations the Educational Philosophy and Mission of Wheaton Academy as outlined in the Statement of Faith and is committed to upholding them. The this person shall follow a Christian lifestyle and shall maintain a Christian church affiliation whose fundamental beliefs are in alignment with the Statement of Faith of this school. This person affirms that, as part of the qualifications for this position, he/she is a "born again" Christian who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.


The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of technical directing experience.  This person must have a thorough understanding of lighting and sound equipment.   Additionally, this person must enjoy working with high school students and desire to both mentor them and teach them technical directing skills.
