Job Summary

The Atlassian Administrator provides systems-level support in the configuration, maintenance, and customization of Exegy’s Jira instances, and related project management tools. In this role you will manage and configure user accounts, roles, and permissions. You will identify and resolve technical issues related to data, processes or user experience and monitor user adoption and data accuracy. You will perform system updates, releases, and regular systems maintenance tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Understand current processes, identify gaps, and gather requirements for customized applications/projects to meet organizational demands
  • Configure and customize Jira, Confluence, and related add-ons to align with business processes and requirements; this includes creating and managing issue types, screens, fields, workflows, validation rules, and other automation
  • Manage user accounts, profiles, roles, and permissions for Jira and Confluence
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity and cleanliness within the Atlassian suite of products
  • Install, configure, and deploy plugins to extend Jira capabilities
  • Administer, upgrade, and enhance Jira integrations
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards for data-driven decision-making
  • Design custom Jira workflows for different issue types to assist in automation
  • Develop Jira templates, complex workflows, and automation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for template and workflow development
  • Integrate Jira with other business systems, ensuring data consistency
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to functionality, data, or user experience
  • Manage support tickets, assist in triaging, and provide end-user support
  • Generate documentation on workflows and processes implemented in Jira; update and maintain system documentation; provide training and support as needed
  • Stay updated on Atlassian features, best practices, and industry trends
  • Propose and implement improvements to enhance system performance
  • Ensure data security and compliance through appropriate measures
  • Ensure incident-related data is documented and up to date
  • Document processes, best practices, customizations; to create a single source of truth on how to use Jira at Exegy

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in JIRA administration and development in an enterprise environment
  • Understanding of Project Management tools: Jira is mandatory, expectations about Bugzilla and other previous generation tools
  • Experience configuring, managing, developing, and testing sandboxes
  • Deep understanding of data management
  • Experience with Jira APIs and integrations
  • Knowledge of scripting languages as python
  • Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies and project management frameworks
  • High organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through and communicate updates in a simplistic way for all levels of users
