What you will be doing

The Associate Product Owner on the operations team is responsible for working on a scrum team who handles tier II support for the APIConnect platform. This position involves working cross-functionally with the APIConnect product team to optimize existing features and provide support to users.

Requirements


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage the APIConnect feedback queue and work with various stakeholders to gather feedback.
  • Analyze submission metrics and share reporting across various teams.
  • Own the maintenance of our support FAQs for tier I support teams.
  • Act as the voice of the user, understanding their needs and challenges to drive the iteration of existing product features.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and reach out directly to students or university users to help solve issues using the APIConnect platform.
  • Create feature backlogs and product documentation such as user stories, use cases, user flows, logic flows, and functional specifications.
  • Define detailed requirements for APIConnect platform enhancements.
  • Author agile user stories with acceptance criteria, and iterate on user stories with the Scrum team.
  • Coordinate the release of product features and tickets 
  • Follow the existing escalation process for high priority requests and features
  • Test and validate fixes or new features as they are being built by the scrum team. 
  • Attend scrum meetings including stand-ups, planning, and backlog grooming.
  • Facilitate backlog grooming to refine and estimate stories.
  • Become the subject matter expert of our users (students seeking life changing experiences through experiential learning!!)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

What experience you should have

  • Strong organizational and systematic problem-solving skills.
  • Excited to be the first line of defense when trying to investigate a problem.
  • Ability to understand data flows across multiple systems and leverage the understanding to investigate cases or identify opportunities to improve features.
  • Experience or interested in learning backend tools like SQL or Postman for case investigations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data-driven decision-making.
  • The ability to partner within a multi-functional team that includes both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Tech-savvy mindset with an interest in learning new technologies.
  • Previous experience with Jira or other agile project management tools in an iterative-based development environment.
  • Adaptability to guide internal and external stakeholders through changes to existing tools.
  • Passion for understanding technology systems and their impact on user experiences.
  • An excellent communicator and presenter, with exceptional interpersonal skills and a solid understanding of business intelligence and the business value of development decisions and how they affect the sales, margin and life-cycle of a product.   

KEY EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of work experience in a related role.
