The Children’s Ministry Assistant helps support and coordinate activities for the Children’s Ministry. This position instructs children in activities designed to promote spiritual and growth. The Children’s Ministry Assistant also performs routine clerical functions to moderately complex task, such as drafting and editing correspondence, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, event planning and deliver results in a timely manner. They serve with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes Harvest’s culture, values, and mission.

• Organize and lead activities designed to promote spiritual, physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
• Assist with the scheduling of special events, such as Virtue and Vacation Bible School.
• Support children's spiritual development, by teaching them about Jesus and caring for others.
•  Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and imaginative play.
• Assimilate arriving children to the church environment by greeting them and helping them to their class or activity.
• May communicate with children's parents or guardians about activities, behaviors, and related issues.
• Keep individual records of children’s allergies and medications.
• Sanitize toys and play equipment, as well as maintain a safe play environment.
• Perform general office duties, such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management database systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work.
• File and maintain documents, records, and reports.
• Arrange for necessary maintenance or repair work.
• Monitor inventory levels and requisition or purchase supplies as needed.
• Physical requirements, with or without accommodations, include long periods of sitting, repetitive hand motions due to keyboard typing, answering phones, handling materials, looking at the computer screen for long periods of time.

Salary Range:  $16.00 - $18.50 per hour.
