Description


  

As our Senior Construction Loan Analyst, you will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of GSE (Fannie/Freddie) loans. This is achieved through effectively utilizing Excel and proprietary in-house software to monitor and administer funding requests, ensure compliance with loan documents, monitor risk, and adhere to reporting requirements. The Senior Construction Loan Analyst is an individual contributor role with no direct management responsibilities; however, you will be looked to for expertise and leadership. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of construction lending and focuses on delivering a top-notch client experience through professional, effective communication and accurate, efficient loan administration processes. 


After one year as our Senior Construction Loan Analyst, you will know you were successful if you…

  • Serve as the primary client and Agency contact for a portfolio of loans financing the rehabilitation of multi-family affordable housing properties located throughout the country. 
  • Review of monthly construction draws to ensure a full complete package is submitted for senior approval. 
  • Prepare credit packages for Agency approval of completion date extensions, waivers, property management changes, etc. 
  • Work with the client and closing team prior to closing to ensure final construction budget and closing draw is accurate. 
  • Review and approval of financial statement spreads and analysis as prepared by the team analysts. 
  • Conduct and/or review property inspections once the proper MBA Inspection certifications are obtained. 
  • Approval of repair/replacement reserve disbursement requests. 
  • Timely updates of internal and external systems & reporting. 
  • Preparation of the welcome package/funding guide and completion of the initial post-closing loan on-boarding. 
  • Tracking of affordability /covenant requirements and following up on code violations and lawsuits as needed. 
Requirements

  

What we are looking for… 

  • 5+ years of construction experience via roles on the lender, developer or Agency side, ensuring a thorough understanding of construction loan documentation, the monthly funding process and critical risk metrics required. 
  • Comfort with unique deal structures & experience managing NY transactions is desired. 
  • The ability to juggle tight deadlines and self-manage the appropriate prioritization of multiple tasks and projects. Requires problem-solving skills as well as the initiative to troubleshoot and find resolutions. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to identify, interpret and apply applicable Merchants and Fannie/Freddie Mac guidelines in leading assigned processes. 
  • A Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
