Description

The Industrial Engineering / Continuous Improvement Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving productivity enhancements and operational efficiencies across all facets of our operations, including distribution, warehouse, and production areas. Collaborating with site leadership, this role will spearhead LEAN initiatives, identify process optimization opportunities, and provide strategic direction to individual teams and N.A. site leadership to achieve tangible results. With a focus on fostering a culture of continuous improvement, they will work alongside all levels of the organization to analyze, plan, design, implement, and evaluate key projects and improvement strategies, aligning with Schluter Systems' growth objectives.


Primary Responsibilities

· Cultivate a Culture of Improvement: Partner with Leadership to instill a robust improvement culture and establish efficient processes aimed at reducing non-value-added waste, enhancing customer service, minimizing cycle times, and elevating product/service quality.

· Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Take charge of various improvement projects, including LEAN methodologies, visual management boards, Kanban system strategies, work station design/6S implementation, standardized work procedures, and waste elimination.

· Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Utilize advanced problem-solving techniques to address issues and detractors, conducting root cause analyses and implementing effective solutions to drive sustainable improvements.

· Multi-Site Project Management: May require occasional travel to oversee and support multi-site warehouse and distribution improvement projects, ensuring consistency and efficiency across locations.

· Systems Proficiency: Develop comprehensive expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP/MRP systems, leveraging technology to optimize operations and streamline processes.

· Performance Analysis and Improvement: Analyze performance metrics, identify opportunities for enhancement, and drive initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall operational performance.

· Standard Operating Procedures: Contribute to the creation and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) where necessary, ensuring consistency and compliance throughout the organization.

· Layout Optimization: Plan and execute changes to warehouse layout and pick-pack areas to enhance workflow and operational efficiency, including re-slotting parts for improved picking efficiency.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

· Strong proficiency in LEAN methodologies and other process improvement techniques.

· Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP/MRP systems.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

· Project management experience, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related activities.
