Job Summary:
White Eagle Golf Club is currently seeking experienced servers to join our Food and Beverage team. Private clubs are unlike any other industry. Our restaurants are in need of food and beverage professionals with a willingness to provide outstanding service to our members and their guests. Here at White Eagle, We love good food and we love creating an atmosphere where people can connect with each other. As a server, you’d play an important role in creating this connection while maintaining a great work-life balance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate genuine hospitality while greeting and servicing through establishing positive relationships with members and guests throughout the club.
- Deliver exceptional dining experiences through menu knowledge while answering all Member questions related to food and beverage offerings.
- Stock, organize, and maintain restaurant equipment, storage, and dining areas.
- Keep serving stations stocked with ice, soda, etc., as well as keeping their section clean and prepared for new guests.
- Setup and breakdown of bar restaurant keeping the restaurant and patio clean, safe, and presentable this includes stocking, organizing, and maintaining restaurant equipment and storage areas.
- Put away requisition each day ensuring all items are stocked fully for the next shift.
- Perform all side work as assigned as well as any other duties assigned by the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.
- Accurately take and deliver food and beverage orders, correctly using the Point-of-Sale system.
- Quickly learn and memorize details about the menu to be able to respond to customer questions and make recommendations. This includes knowing key ingredients relating to food allergies.
- Enhance Member experience.
- Own every member request.
Skills
- Communicate well with coworkers and customers and always maintain personable and professional communication. This includes being able to listen and collaborate where applicable.
- Maintain a positive attitude, even under pressure. Patience with customers and coworkers is a must, particularly during busy rushes.
- Handle tasks unsupervised, including being able to spot tasks that need to be done (even though they might not have been assigned by managers).
- Listen to customer feedback and relay or make suggestions to managers. This may include suggestions for service, menu, or ambiance.
Qualifications
- Be punctual and reliable, showing up for their shifts as scheduled.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have willingness to serve and a positive attitude.
- Must have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have ability to work effectively with a team.
- Must have previous serving experience; 1 year + preferred.
- Experience in a private club is a plus.
- Must possess a true desire to satisfy the needs of members and guests in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, club events, holidays and Club Black Out Dates.
- Food Handler and Naperville BASSET Certified (we will reimburse for Naperville BASSET).
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time, ability to lift moderate amounts of weight up to 35 pounds.
