We are currently seeking a Data Engineering Supervisor to join our team as a full time hybrid employee in our Franklin, TN office. This position will lead a talented team of data engineers and contribute to the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure. 


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data storage solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Define and implement best practices, standards, and processes for data engineering, ensuring adherence to industry standards and compliance with data governance policies.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in data engineering practices, tools, and technologies, staying up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in the field.
  • Manage data infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, optimizing performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Oversee data modeling, schema design, and data governance initiatives to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex technical issues related to data pipelines, data processing, and data quality in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define data engineering strategy, roadmap, and priorities aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery of data engineering projects.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong hands-on experience in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data storage solutions.
  • Experience with data warehousing and setting up data lake houses using   Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with experience in managing data infrastructure on these platforms.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python or similar languages for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and data governance best practices.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in data engineering practices and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with big data technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Certification in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Data Engineer).
  • Experience with AWS Technologies: RDS, Lambda, SNS, SQS, AppSync, EventBridge
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in managing complex data engineering projects from conception to completion.

Salary Description
$140,000 - $155,000
