POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Director of IT manages, maintains and designs integrated campus databases including but not limited to, the Colleague Suite of Applications, Business Objects, Black Board, One Card, Touchnet, Office 365, Active Directory, and Radix and all related software and reporting systems. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining high quality services to the academic, student services and business departments. This engineer will work closely with customers to produce relevant reports through the design, build and publishing of the reports using available software tools and languages and the pro-active monitoring of the production environment to ensure user satisfaction and anticipate new requirements based on changing business needs and new trends in technology is essential. This position provides advanced software support for end-users; provides end user support; develops and implements code; etc.


 This position reports to the Director of Information Technologies. The engineer will be responsible for the building of software tools to support the needs of the end users in the various Benedictine College departments. They will design, produce and install reporting systems utilizing various reporting systems, provide project and technical leadership on complex projects, maintain communication with users on the effectiveness of delivered solutions and refine systems accordingly and develop, recommend, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and work flow.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support, maintain and build tools to utilize the data gathered by the Colleague Suite of Applications, Black Board, Touchnet, Office 365, Active Directory, Radix, Sirsi, the library software; Maxient; CampusLabs; Akademos and various reporting systems software. 
  • Support and train business users of campus core software.
  • Design and develop new and additional systems and software utilization for campus core software.
  • Design and administer all core software applications and software integration.
  • Assists the Director of IT and the CFO in special projects in the IT, Financial Aid, HR, Admissions, Student Life departments and Business Office.

Education

A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or other relevant field. Specialized training or experienced knowledge with SQL, Python, PHP, C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, Vue.js, HTML/CSS. Knowledge of Window and Linux Servers as well as administrative skills is a plus.
