Economic Development Coordinator
Description

The Economic Development Coordinator will serve a key role within NCRR’s Economic Development (ED) team as we continue to expand the company’s initiatives for business and economic development recruitment and expansion projects, rail-served industrial site development and marketing, and promotion of North Carolina’s rail-served sites and freight rail opportunities. 

Requirements

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the ED team to assist with and coordinate project responses to railroads, real estate and development community, other railroads, and economic development partners at the state, regional, and local levels. 
  • Manage ED project tracking system for all projects and programs as relevant and produce monthly reports for the Board of Directors and Stakeholders.  
  • Research, coordinate, and draft economic development project documents in partnership with team members to generate project briefings for investment consideration. 
  • Assist with coordination and document management of all NCRR shareholder programs reimbursement processes. 
  • Manage NCRR’s rail-served, industrial site database by working with the N.C. real estate community, economic development partners, and landowners to track available sites. 
  • Ensure seamless integration of NCRR’s site database into internal GIS mapping system, ensuring the continuous flow of data updates across the company. 
  • Contribute to and support multiple marketing initiatives, including the NCRR ED newsletter. 
  • Assist with existing N.C. rail-user needs and requests, as necessary. 
  • Compile and analyze information from various sources on a variety of economic development initiatives and activities to generate reports for both internal and external audiences. 
  • Maintain economic development records and file organization. 
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and budgets. 
  • Track all incoming and outgoing agreements and file accordingly.
  • Responsible for administrative tasks including, but not limited to, generating and submitting division purchase orders, expense reports, and calendar coordination. 

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.  
  • Proficient in NetSuite or similar ERP system experience and overall experience with cloud-based systems.
  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or economics preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 30% 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This work is predominantly conducted in an office setting. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
