Registrar Transcript Clerk  


Description of Position  

The Registrar Transcript Clerk’s primary functions are the processing of transcripts and diplomas. This position is a non-exempt, 12-month, full-time position, and reports to the University Registrar.  


Essential Functions 

  • Facilitates and processes requests for transcripts for Undergraduate and Graduate programs using a third-party vendor. 
  • Facilitates and processes requests for transcripts for CPD programs using a third-party vendor. 
  • Oversees transcript work performed by student worker. 
  • Coordinates the printing and distribution of undergraduate and graduate diplomas monthly. 
  • Coordinate the printing of years of service certificates on an as needed basis. 
  • Serves as receptionist, answering the main phone line as necessary. 
  • Provides back-up support for walk-in students, faculty, staff and other patrons to the Office of the Registrar. 
  • Works in conjunction with program coordinators, department assistants, and faculty to assign classrooms for all advising sessions and face to face classes based on class size, equipment, and location needs. 
  • Updates Drop/Add, Instructor Permission, and Course Request forms prior to early registration each semester. 
  • Updates academic dates on the Portal calendar for the Office of the Registrar. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Strong customer service orientation with good communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Strong computer skills in Word and Excel 
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and files 
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • Willingness to learn new computer technology  
  • Flexible attitude towards job responsibilities as NNU begins the process of transitioning to a new customer service model that will change the computer system being used and may change the location, supervision or specific duties of this position
