Junior Proposal Writer
Fully Remote Remote
Description

Who We Are:

We are honored to be named a Top Workplace by the Detroit Free Press for six consecutive years! Here at KL&A, we love what we do and believe that our employees are our greatest asset which is why we search for the best and brightest (and perhaps the most caffeinated) of the bunch. This is why our employees have the opportunity to work in an environment of their choosing: whether in the dynamic office environment, in your PJ bottoms at home, or a combination of the two.

KL&A is an IT consulting firm that knocks the socks off our clients. We work closely with organizations across the United States to develop creative business solutions through project & program management and custom software applications so they can focus on what’s most important…their mission.

Who You Are:

You love building relationships with team members, want to write persuasive and narrative content, and collaboratively produce high-quality, winning proposals. You are a logical thinker who enjoys analysis, organizing, and planning, and your attention to detail is so good it’s scary. You can be a client-advocate who thinks about how to make proposal evaluation easy for the reader. You enjoy collaborating with those around you but can also accomplish tasks as a solo artist. You’re able to seamlessly transition from one task to the next without skipping a beat, as well as juggle multiple tasks when necessary. Continuous learning is important to you and you are eager to learn a new and engaging skill set that will allow you to grow your career in the proposal world. You’re personable, self-motivated, and love lending a hand to your colleagues.

About the Role:

As a Junior Proposal Writer, you’ll work closely with the Proposal Manager, technical subject matter experts, content contributors, teammates, and business development leaders. You will participate in many stages of the proposal development lifecycle (PDLC) from solicitation analysis through content development, review and editing, to final production. You’ll work closely with contributors, especially technical solution teams, to ensure all contributed content is well-written, meets standards, and, most importantly, clearly demonstrates how the proposed solution meets the client’s needs.  Experience in the software or product development world is a bonus that will help you identify areas within a technical narrative that may require additional detail or seem confusing to evaluators. In between proposals, you’ll work with the Proposal Manager to ensure content assets are created or updated, maintaining a high-quality, robust library. This position is remote-eligible with a work schedule compatible with the Eastern Time Zone.
