SUMMARY: Responsibilities include working with clients to increase appraisal outreach and providing descriptions and valuations of jewelry for fair market value, replacement cost, and other appraisal purposes.
LOCATION: Seeking candidates in Dallas, New York City, and Los Angeles. Major cities are not specific, need to be near a major airport.

COMPENSATION: Commensurate based on experience. $80K - $120K
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Market appraisal services to various clients (source formal appraisals)
• Identify, describe, and value personal property as appropriate to the type of appraisal requested.
• Provide comparables and reasoned justifications of values.
• Coordinate with Appraisal Department and other specialists for input wherever needed
• Assist with research and authentication.
• Proofread appraisal reports.
• Participate in the expansion of client databases.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
• GG or FGA required
• 5+ years experience as an appraiser with a current USPAP certificate of completion required
• Membership in a professional appraiser’s society or association is required.
• Must be familiar with historical periods of jewelry history (i.e. Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, Art Deco, Retro to present
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be highly proficient in basic Microsoft applications; specifically Word and Excel, have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, high ability to multitask, pay great attention to detail, and have a positive attitude with exceptional client service skills. Public speaking talents are a plus!
