SUMMARY: Cataloguers assist the Fine Jewelry Department by examining, evaluating, and describing jewelry for over 65 auctions held annually. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to handle antique, estate, and period jewelry and experience the dynamic auction industry.

LOCATION:
South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane
COMPENSATION:
Commensurate based on experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Proficiency in identifying gemstones and diamonds using tools provided: microscope, polariscope, refractometer, etc.
• Ability to test and adequately identify metal
• Proficiency in calculating weights of mounted diamonds/gemstones
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel
• Excellent writing and/or cataloging skills
• Ability to follow assigned formats
• Strong research skills in a high-production environment
• Demonstrated prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in previews, including setup and teardown.
• Assist with inquiries
• Appraisal skills are helpful but not required
• Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
GIA Graduate Gemologist diploma required
