Description

HF Rubber Machinery, Inc., a subsidiary of the HF Mixing Group, is the global leader in the manufacturing of rubber and plastic processing equipment.  HFRM, based in Topeka, Kansas is looking for an Assembler.  The ideal candidate will have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, a positive and professional image, ability to work with all levels of employees, excellent organizational skills and be a self-starter with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.

Assembles machines and equipment their sub-assemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.


Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans assembly procedures while following specifications.
  • Removes small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
  • Drills, taps or reams holes.
  • Aligns components and bolts, screws or rivets them together.
  • Installs moving parts such as shafts, levers or bearings and works them to test free movement.
  • Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems.
  • Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
  • Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
  • Use of overhead crane, forklift, boiler unit, water test equipment and hydraulic tools.
  • Uses air and electric equipment, solvents, painting supplies and welding equipment.
  • Occasional travel as needed to assist Engineering Field Services (EFS) with installation and other repairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Manufacturing, industrial or skilled trade experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information and answer questions clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to analyze data or information by identifying the underlying principles, reasons or facts of information with using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan, set priorities and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of HFRM.
  • Demonstrate tact, poise and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
