Construction Manager

This position is responsible for overseeing construction projects for all Peju properties and for developing and implementing the annual budgeting and work activity planning for all maintenance and capital improvement projects. The Construction Manager will play a crucial role in the upkeep of the quality standards for all construction, modifications and preventative maintenance for all Peju properties and the owner’s residences. Other duties as assigned.


  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Perform or provide recommendations and oversee the implementation of construction projects including, building design, equipment drawings, cost estimates, proposals, sub-contractor bids, quality specifications, materials, and invoice management.

· Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform required preventative maintenance actions including; repair, modification and routine maintenance of buildings, facilities, equipment, fixtures and systems.

· Maintain preventative maintenance schedule via Maintenance Connection. Perform skilled level repairs, preventative maintenance and modifications on winery buildings, equipment, fixtures, systems and overall facility in the winery and owner property(s) performing tasks such as plumbing and electrical, painting and various jobs and maintenance.

· Direct work and inspect working areas to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations as required by local, state and federal mandates.

· Manage water systems at each facility and vineyard (well and city water). Ensure water system is regularly tested, maintained and monitor usage.

· Review service requests for repairs and maintenance. Determine nature of problem and recommend appropriate solution.

· Work with county and state agencies to ensure all requirements are met for submissions of construction permits, building codes and usage permits.

· Direct and manage maintenance, capital and facility projects.

· Coordinate with outside technical staff, construction, design, architects and outside contractors and ensure the end job is on par with the quality standards of the company.

· Directly manage Maintenance & Facilities teams, assigning tasks, and supervising on-site activities to ensure work completion and compliance with safety and quality standards.

· Develop and maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports, to keep stakeholders informed.

· Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and communication among staff and stakeholders.

Requirements

· High School Education required. College level or technical training education preferred.

· Five (5) years journeyman level maintenance or general construction experience with knowledge of various trades including welding, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration and installation.

· One or more years of management or supervisory experience.

· Ability to perform welding, forklift repair and bottling line experience is strongly preferred.

· Requires skilled knowledge of how to operate trade tools and perform jobs at a high quality while being safe.

· Certification to operate specific machinery or plant vehicles (forklift) is required. Man and scissor lift certificate preferred. 

· Valid CA Driver’s License required and clean driving record.

· Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory requirements.

· Skilled to work from blueprints and all phases of mechanical work

· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new systems and procedures.

Salary Description
$115,000 to $130,000
