The AOG Lead works directly with the NorCal AOG Manager to accommodate AOG maintenance in the field. This position is responsible for the day-to-day performance of all AOG and scheduled maintenance while ensuring that the work meets the highest standards of quality and safety. The AOG Lead will be coordinating and participating in AOG, unscheduled, and RON maintenance in the field - primarily in the Northern California San Francisco Bay Area region, with occasional AOG work in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii, and the greater Pacific region. These activities must be done while maintaining a positive and productive relationship with ACI Jet’s employees, vendors, and clients. Frequent travel beyond the San Franciso Bay Area is required for this position, including international travel and overnight hotel stays. Available hours must be flexible for on-call work, including nights and weekends. Hourly pay with OT compensation is negotiable and based on experience. This position dispatches from the employee’s residence in a company-provided AOG vehicle. Hangar, tooling, and facility access will be available at KSJC and KOAK. The AOG Lead will be required to be SIDA badged at KSJC, KOAK, and KSFO. 


Any employee who has accepted the position of AOG Lead is required to competently perform within the following job description. The AOG Lead is responsible for oversight and performance of aircraft maintenance assigned by the AOG Manager. Once they have been assigned the job, they are to organize, implement, supervise, and perform all maintenance, communication, and logistical requirements. They are to communicate professionally and in a timely manner to the AOG Manager. They are to perform the maintenance as described by the manufacturer’s specifications and to the standards set forth by ACI Jet. They are to communicate any concerns or lack of capabilities to the AOG Manager. This position requires the ability to work independently, as well as work in a supervisory role to one, and occasionally two assistant technicians. Avionics experience is a huge plus and compensation will be adjusted accordingly.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned as required by management) :

  • Report daily to the AOG Manager.
  • Direct coordination and supervision of AOG technicians and AOG maintenance projects.
  • Complete tasks assigned in accordance with the procedures set forth in ACI Jet’s Air Carrier Operations Manual (ACOM).
  • Coordinate with the AOG Manager to ensure a safe and efficient repair and return to service of all aircraft.
  • Comply with all FARs, Operations Specifications, Company Policies, and Company Procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate technical data is used during the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration activities.
  • Ensure AOG vehicles and work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Must follow airport, TSA, and DOT requirements for operating a motor vehicle.
  • Ensure all maintenance or alterations processes are appropriately completed and documented as required by the operator and in accordance with the applicable FARs.
  • Submit all required work orders, reports, receipts, time cards (Paylocity), and other company forms and records to the AOG Manager in a timely and organized manner.
  • Maintain a close, productive, and beneficial relationship with ACI Jet managers, peers, colleagues, manufacturer’s representatives, customers, and other repair facilities.
  • Ensure the safety and quality of all assigned duties and responsibilities by actively and positively participating in ACI Jet’s SQMS program.
  • Must be available for unscheduled on-call/call-out maintenance events 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays, as part of a rotating on-call schedule. Scheduled time off is accommodated and encouraged.
  • Must be available to perform AOG and scheduled maintenance in the field at remote locations, domestically and internationally, requiring travel and overnight lodging at hotels, when scheduled.
  • Must document all maintenance performed in the Corridor maintenance records database correctly and accurately.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:


Required: 

  • A passion for aviation.
  • At least three years of AOG or unscheduled RON/Line station maintenance experience as a Lead or supervisor. Part 145 Repair Station experience a plus.
  • Work experience must include troubleshooting, the use of specialized tools, and ground support equipment, and the use of aircraft maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, technical reports, and forms.

  • On-call and after-hours support is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid A&P License.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must possess a valid passport.
  • Must reside in or near the Bay Area proper.
  • Must be able to work as a part of a team in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work with little to no guidance.
  • Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be computer proficient (MS Office, Google, Aviation Maintenance Software (Corridor)).
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must have your own tools and toolbox (basic hand tools).
  • Must be available to be on-call.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to read, write and speak English. (Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus).
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
