Build in Tulsa Background:

The mission of Build in Tulsa is to close the racial wealth gap in America by catalyzing multi-generational Black wealth through tech and entrepreneurship. Build in Tulsa is dedicated to providing Black entrepreneurs with the human, social, and financial capital needed for success in commercializing new products and services into the marketplace. Central to our work is our network of accelerators including ACT Tulsa, Lightship, and Techstars, designed to meet underrepresented Black and Brown entrepreneurs wherever they are in their journey. Build in Tulsa helps entrepreneurs build skills, build networks, and build capital to take their businesses to the next level. Build in Tulsa is providing a suite of services including training and workshops to get founders accelerator-ready, mentoring and networking events to introduce entrepreneurs to each other as well as strategic partners, and connecting entrepreneurs to potential sources of capital. Build in Tulsa is also addressing some of the barriers that many Black entrepreneurs face by providing free coworking space, cost of living assistance, funding for technology, and other microgrants.

Position Summary:

Build in Tulsa is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic community builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and fostering a thriving community within our coworking space. As the Entrepreneur Engagement Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility and providing exceptional support to our entrepreneurs in residence, partners, and guests ensuring we provide a safe and inviting environment that serves as a launching pad for helping our members scale their businesses. Duties and Responsibilities:

Entrepreneur/Community Support (30%)

  • Greet and welcome our entrepreneurs in residence and visitors to the coworking space, providing excellent customer service and creating a positive first impression.
  • Foster a sense of community by engaging with our entrepreneurs in residence and visitors, facilitating introductions, and encouraging collaboration and networking opportunities.
  • Work with the operations team to develop systems to monitor and track occupancy and onboard entrepreneurs coworking in the space.
  • Collaborate with the various teams to develop and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing the coworking experience for our members.
  • Proactively identify and address issues or concerns raised by entrepreneurs in residence to ensure their satisfaction and retention.
  • Stay updated on the needs and preferences of entrepreneurs, and share feedback with our core team to inform decision-making and enhance our services.

Facilities (40%)

  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the coworking space, including common areas, meeting rooms, and amenities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for maintenance and facilities vendors, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Stay abreast of any building upkeep needs and proactively reach out to resolve them, ensuring the smooth operation and safety of the workspace.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to stock the office and corporate housing with supplies and coordinate the servicing of office equipment, contributing to a productive and comfortable work environment.

Events (10%)

  • Work with our programming and events teams, assisting with community events and workshops, including planning, promotion, and coordination of logistics.

Administrative (20%)

  • Set up and maintain a tech-based scheduling and check-in system to maintain accurate logs, coordinate the use of space, and track facility usage.
  • Execute administrative tasks, such as managing memberships, handling inquiries, coordinating reservations, and receiving and distributing deliveries.
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and can take initiative during downtime
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and a genuine desire to support the success of our members.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving, with a positive attitude and a willingness to jump in where necessary.

Education & Experience

  • At least an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of customer service, community management, hospitality, or a related industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly adept at personal and professional relationship management and can handle a crisis with a smile
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
  • Adept at spreadsheets and tracking expenses
  • Experience using scheduling and membership management software preferred
  • Experience with Gmail, Google Docs, Asana, Airtable, Slack

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs., for lifting supplies and materials, as needed
  • Position continually requires the ability to talk and hear both in person and over the phone, visual acuity; the ability to operate equipment, read, and use a keyboard
  • Position requires sitting, or standing, and working with a computer for extended periods of time

Work Schedule and Location Requirements:

  • This position operates full time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday
  • Ability to occasionally work hours outside of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. for events
  • Occasional need to utilize personal transportation must maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Salary Description
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on experience
