Bartenders, like Ushers, are one of the first contacts patrons have when they are attending an event and as such, are responsible for providing quick, friendly, and professional service to all Pablo guests. Responsibilities will also include following recipes and keeping the bar stocked and clean. A bartender will strive to provide accurate information to patrons by being aware of all Pablo Center’s offerings. 


The ideal candidate will display a positive attitude, strong work ethic, punctuality, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and be coached. Bartenders will also be expected to work quickly and accurately under high-volume periods to ensure all guests are attended to in a timely manner. This position reports to the Front of House Managers. 

This part-time position averages 5-25 hours per week annually, though based on the event schedule, some weeks will have more activity and some weeks will have minimal activity. Schedule will flex between daytime, evening and weekend hours depending on the events schedule, with most hours on nights and weekends. 


Starting wage is $12 hourly plus tips distributed weekly. Required to work collaboratively for extended period of time in close proximity, distances under 5’ (five feet) with Artists, Patrons, Students, Community Members, Board Members and Pablo Center Staff. 

Requirements

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

· Clean bars work areas and tables as well as glasses utensils and bar equipment. Clean and stock bar at the end of each shift. 

· Strong ability to move lines along while maintaining a guest-first attitude and demeanor. 

· Provides safe service of alcohol to guests 21 and older by thoroughly checking Identification of customers to verify age requirements. 

· Attempts to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as discontinuing alcohol service and notifying management of potential problem(s). 

· Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions regarding concessions procedures including accurately measuring alcoholic beverages to create consistent, standard beverages. 

· Exhibits excellent product knowledge and stays up to date on the variety of offerings available. 

· Encourages and welcomes suggestions and feedback. Reports feedback from patrons to the Front of House Managers. 

· Develops rapport with patrons of Pablo Center at the Confluence. 

· Ability to work well independently and as a part of a high-functioning team. 

· Cash handling. 

· All other duties as assigned. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Required

· Bartending experience required. 

· A valid Bartender’s License from the City of Eau Claire or ability to acquire within two weeks of hire. 

· Ability to work non-traditional hours primarily including nights and weekends. 

· Dedication to providing the highest level of guest service with an attention to small details. 

· Proven track record of handling guest issues proactively and professionally to produce positive outcomes.  

· Intuitive problem-solving skills, and the ability to make quick and correct decisions to maintain a high-class patron experience. 

· Excellent time management skills.  

· Ability to thrive working in a team environment. 

· Physically able to stand for long periods of time.  

· Ability to lift heavy boxes or other objects up to 50 lbs.  


Preferred: 

· Customer service experience with references. 

· Knowledgeable about Pablo Center specifically and Downtown Eau Claire in general.
