Description

STRUCTR Advisors is seeking a Senior Manager, Virtual Design & Construction, who will be responsible for managing and leading all aspects of the VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) business unit. This position will ensure the successful development, implementation, education, and support for all VDC projects and activities, which also includes laser scanning and drones. This role will consult and advise on VDC and construction technology related items for design, construction management, facilities management, and other related customer needs. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all VDC operations on projects and initiatives for STRUCTR Advisors and its clients.
  • Collaborate with STRUCTR Advisors and their respective clients to develop, implement, and uphold VDC standards, requirements, and best practices.
  • Evaluate, estimate, and contribute to VDC related project proposals and contracts.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and standards for the VDC business unit.
  • Oversee and assist VDC Coordinators in the VDC business unit.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project specific VDC requirements, including the BIM Execution Plan, LOD Matrix, and Coordination Schedule.
  • Aid in project VDC processes, such as coordination meetings, clash detection procedures, constructability reviews, RFI development & resolution, and model maintenance.
  • Monitor and record key performance indicators (KPIs) for all VDC projects and initiatives.
  • Communicate critical project information and milestones to project stakeholders and executives.
  • Assist in the resolution and troubleshooting of VDC related challenges on projects.
  • Leverage and manage subcontractor VDC project teams effectively.
  • Provide training and education for employees and customers on the effective use of the VDC tools and technologies when needed.
  • Attend necessary company and project meetings.
  • Participate in continuing education and R&D initiatives to support the ongoing evolution of VDC and other construction technologies within the company.
  • Participate in the Hourigan Construction Corp.’s Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within your capability and control and the help of safety staff.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, completion of Construction Management Certificate Program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience with VDC/BIM related processes
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the AEC industry 
  • Demonstrated expertise in major VDC software including Autodesk AEC Suite (Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, etc.) and Bluebeam. 
  • Knowledge of key construction technologies, including laser scanning, model rendering, VR/AR, Drones, and 4D simulation.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in managing VDC project teams on major construction projects.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of project/field management, means and methods, document administration and a thorough understanding of industry practices.
