Description

This role travels to Livonia, West Bloomfield and Novi

  • Verifies positive identification.
  • Explain specimen collection, methods and procedures to patients.
  • Performs venipuncture.
  • Obtains and processes blood specimens for Research.
  • Labels, dates, and records specimens obtained.
  • Ensures that specimens are sent in a timely manner to the laboratory for culture and analysis.
  • Maintains record.
  • Assembles equipment such as needles, disposable specimen containers, tourniquet, gauze, etc.
  • Monitors inventory
  • This role will also help out with UroCuff procedures. 
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collectively with the urological team including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, Front Office staff, Information Management, Billing and Surgical boarding.

Certifications

Phlebotomy Certificate required.
