POSITION SUMMARY

The Stockroom Technician receives and locates all materials into the stockroom, dispenses materials from the stockroom and manages the associated documentation and record keeping.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for part number verification, material count and the accuracy of the inventory database.

Correctly identify all parts and material.

Validate system and document data to the physical material and counts to identify any discrepancies.

Sorts and processes inventory prior to placement on racks or shelves.

Store articles in bins, shelves or floor locations according to size and/or type of item.

Interacts with Production Control personnel regarding build schedules to ensure that manufacturing shortages are kept to a minimum

Provides security and inventory control over Government furnished Equipment (GFE).

Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Supports purchasing activities and may be assigned other material control functions as assigned.

Reads, understands and follows company policies, procedures and safety rules.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

ENTRY - 0 to 3 Years

MID - 3 to 7 Years

SENIOR - 7+ Years



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Ability to understand and follow directions.
  2. Ability to understand and become functional in the use of the company's ERP/MRP systems as it pertains to the stockroom and material control.
  3. Basic computer skills and the willingness to learn additional systems.
  4. Ability to read work orders and count parts needed.
  5. Must be highly organized, have a keen attention to detail and be process oriented.
  6. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions using American standard units in weight, measurement, volume and distance.
  7. Must be self-disciplined and able to work with little or no supervision.
  8. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  9. Ability to adapt communication style and messaging to different audiences.
  10. Ability to work in a project-oriented, fast paced environment to meet deadlines.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with inventory management and/or receiving in a manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, military or related environment.
  2. Experience working with inventory on government projects and/or programs.
  3. Proficiency in common business software (Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, SharePoint)
  4. Ability to drive a forklift (preferred).


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.



EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  1. Due to contractual requirements must be a United States Citizen
  2. Must be able to pass an initial background check.
  3. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense security clearance. Employee/selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (as required)
  4. Must be able and willingness to travel (CONUS/OCONUS)
  5. ASI is a Drug Free Workplace where applicants and employees are required to successfully pass pre-employment and Random drug testing.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be able to life and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
  2. Capable of repetitive lifting of packages with no physical restrictions.
  3. Required to sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
  4. Required to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach wit harms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb on ladders.
  5. May be required to use a forklift.
  6. Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified people with disabilities to perform the job.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. The work environment characteristics are representative of the office environment.
  2. The noise level is in the work environment is moderate with periods of noise at a high level where ear protection may be required.
