Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Feed Delivery Driver to join our team. The Feed Delivery Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of feed products to our customers, maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service.

  

Major Areas of Accountability: 

Distribution 

1. Delivers feed and related products in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

2. Offers input to the Feed Operations Manager, an efficient route system to serve customers at the lowest possible cost per mile of delivered product.

3. Develops and maintains an organized and efficient loading/unloading system.

4. Inspects feed as it is loaded and unloaded.

5. Assures that feed truck tanks are cleaned out before loading.

6. Works with the Feed Operations Manager to insure safe and efficient loading sequences.

7. Verifies that all items listed on the work order of sales ticket are loaded and delivered,

8. Submits accurate Bulk Feed Delivery Records daily to the Production Supervisor.

Sales and Service 

1. Sells and promotes feed and related products.

2. Informs sales staff and Feed Team Manager of sales opportunities or purchases of feed or related products from UFC competitors.

3. Unloads feed or related products according to customer instructions.

4. Promptly reports any customer complaints to the Feed Team Manager.

5. Provides customers with accurate sales tickets and collects payment if required.

6. Makes after hour deliveries as needed.

7. Looks for opportunities to assist customers by observing herd health etc.

8. Assists in any other areas of feed distribution as requested.

9. Participates in departmental meetings as requested by the Feed Team Manager and/or 

Feed Operations Manager.

Maintenance and Safety

1. Responsible for maintaining vehicle according to Feed Department schedules.

2. Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of assigned vehicle.

3. Reports promptly any needed parts or repairs to keep expenses to lowest possible cost.

4. Follows bio-security procedures requiring plastic boots and disinfectant in the truck at all times.

5. Reports and unsafe conditions to the Feed Team Manager.

6. Operates vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with all OSHA and other state and federal regulations.

7. Complies with company safety program.

8. Assists in resolving customer complaints quickly and fairly in accordance with company policies. Refers unusual situations to Feed Team Manager.

9. Maintains required logs, daily truck inspections and other required documentation.

10. Attends appropriate training sessions as part of programs of continuing education.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

Education: 

· High school graduate required. 

· Truck driving school graduate a plus

· Experience may be substituted for education

Experience: 

· Previous single axle truck driving required

· Mechanical aptitude desirable

· Ag background a plus

· Good people skills necessary

Other: 

· Must be in good physical condition capable of lifting, carrying and pushing weights up to 100 pounds and have full use of both arms and legs and both hands.

· Must be able to climb stairs, reach above, below and at shoulder level, work on moving machinery, work at unprotected heights with dust, fumes or gas and in temperature extremes both inside and outside.

· Be able to drive vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.

· Must have a valid commercial driver’s license with hazard, tanker and other DOT endorsements.

· Pre-employment and random drug testing required.

· Must attend all training sessions required by law.
