Summary

Trinity Repertory Company seeks a sound technician to join our fast-paced Production Department on the sound team. The sound technician is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workings of the sound crew for each production. The sound technician will work closely with the sound engineer to plan and execute workflow. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

· Oversees the day-to-day workings of the sound crew for each production which includes specifically the sound board op and the sound apprentice

· Ensures that equipment used in the show is functioning properly daily

· Identifies way to accomplish design needs for the director of the show or the sound engineer

· Installs sound system for each show 

· Runs cable and wiring, speakers and video equipment

· Maintains cable and equipment throughout each production and the season

Education and/or Experience

· Minimum of 2-3 years of professional employment or internship in theater and/or event sound (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Technical/Computer Skills

Knowledge of theatrical production practices and procedures. Familiarity with COVID-19 Safety regulations.  

· Knowledge of QLab, basic computer networking including Dante

· Signal flow and sound system patching

· Clear Com headset systems

· Programming digital speaker processors

· Grid experience 

· Basic understanding of electricity and sound principles

· Experience soldering

· MS Office Suite

· File Share Software (Dropbox, One Drive)

Language Skills

Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to communicate transparently and effectively across mediums. The ability and passion to work inclusively with all ages and diverse populations.  

Certifications

· Valid driver’s license 

· Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, including one booster against COVID-19. Medical and religious exemptions to COVID-19 vaccination requirements will be granted and reasonable accommodations provided under applicable law
