Description

SUMMARY

Oversee Service operations to ensure that they are conducted in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with proper procedure. Manage facility and all technicians. Interact with customers regarding their service needs. Interact with vendors to manage material and services that they provide. 



JOB DESCRIPTION

The Service Manager oversees all service operations, maintains the facility and grounds of the branch location and oversees the condition and maintenance of the service fleet vehicles in the respective branch. Coordinates the safe and efficient activities of all service technicians. Manages the service office and staff to ensure internal operations are conducted in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Responsible for opening and closing branch facility and answering to any after- hour emergency calls.
  • Maintain branch facility, grounds and fleet vehicles to 5-S and ASEC standards. 
  • Provide clean and safe working instructions, equipment and working conditions.
  • Maintain equipment and machinery to safe operating standards. 
  • Oversee maintenance of the service fleet vehicles to maintain proper and safe operation. 
  • Conduct Performance Reviews for all service personnel. 
  • Manage the service office and staff to ensure internal operations are conducted in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with proper procedure. 
  • Communicate with customer and employees regarding work in progress.
  • Review work in progress and resolve billing issues or customer complaints. 
  • Work with Warranty Clerk to assist in warranty claim process.
  • Work with Technical Training staff to provide technical assistance and training schedule.
  • Work with Service Writer to accurately quote service work in a timely manner. 
  • Work with Safety Director to provide safe working conditions and training. 
  • Administer procedures and report any accidents or injury of any of our employees or customers.
  • Work with Corporate Service Manager and Corporate Office Coordinator to review and improve service operations. 
  • Ensure that employees follow proper procedure.
  • Administer appropriate disciplinary actions for employees that violate policy or procedure.
  • Interview and hire new service personal in coordination with HR department.  
  • Prepare and conduct Team and Group meetings as scheduled. 
  • Manage Full Maintenance equipment portfolio. 
  • Oversee service operation to provide profitable result.

          


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

An extensive background in forklift or heavy machinery repair. A good history of personnel management and strong professional work ethics is necessary for this position. Must have basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

High school graduate or GED. 

Certifications on industrial equipment are preferred. 

Must be able to pass, obtain and maintain a forklift license on all equipment. 

Must have valid driver’s license.


WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Must have safe work ethics and a “get it done attitude”. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously will full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and reaching, etc. Work is performed in a maintenance environment with potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, or solvents which require knowledge of proper safety procedures.
