Description

Job Summary: At Kadean, Project Engineers play a vital role in supporting our Project Managers in successfully managing construction projects. As a PE you are expected to be hands-on in various aspects of the construction process including bidding, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and documentation. You will work closely with our team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

  • Represent Kadean in a professional and friendly manner. Remember that your behavior and attitude directly reflect Kadean’s entire team. 
  • Assist the Project Manager in various tasks to ensure a successful project. 
  • Work with all field staff to ensure they have the tools and information needed to complete the task.
  • Maintain a change order log within 1-week of a report of change events. 
  • Solicit and compile pricing information for changes in the work.
  • Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.

  • Assist and/or manage the process of issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Manage the submittal log set-up, request, review, and distribution of submittals.
  • Manage the construction documents and ensure that ALL team members have the most current set of construction documents, including all addenda, ASI’s, Approved Proposal Requests, and all other pertinent documents, to ensure the latest and most significant information is being used to construct the project.
  • Manage project information in Procore and general file storage in the Kadean Public Folder.
  • Read and understand how to apply the conditions of Kadean’s Subcontract.
  • Read and understand the prime contract between Kadean and the Client.
  • Update the project schedule weekly. 
  • Enable and assist Kadean Field Staff to succeed on every project.
  • Promote safety with all Kadean employees and subcontractors.
  • Maintain good relationships with all subcontractors, designers, and consultants.
  • Record and issue meeting notes from all project meetings to attendees and relevant parties. 
  • Attend weekly operations meetings and participate.
  • Seek to understand all facets of the construction process.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses computers, phones, and photocopies, and is and is primarily sedentary. 
  • The ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods, frequent walking, bending or standing is necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 15lbs at times.
