Position Overview: The Custom Applicator at UFC plays a crucial role in our agronomy services team, responsible for safely and efficiently applying crop protection and nutrient products to our members' fields. The Custom Applicator will operate and maintain application equipment, ensure accurate product application, and uphold our commitment to environmental stewardship and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safe and Efficient Operation: Operate and maintain application equipment, including sprayers, spreaders, and other machinery, ensuring safe and efficient application of crop inputs.
  2. Product Application: Apply crop protection products, fertilizers, and other agronomic inputs according to product labels, agronomist recommendations, and UFC standards.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on application equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of applied products, field locations, and equipment maintenance, complying with regulatory and company requirements.
  5. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with farmers, agronomists, and other UFC team members to schedule applications, address concerns, and provide exceptional service.
  6. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and environmental guidelines, promoting a culture of safety and compliance within the team and among customers.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in agronomy and custom application services to enhance productivity and service quality.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in agriculture or related field preferred.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements.
  • Mechanical aptitude helpful.
  • Commercial custom applicators license 
  • Must be able to work 7 days a week (during peak agronomy seasons only)
  • Previous experience operating agricultural equipment and performing custom application services preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Commitment to safety and customer service.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons, including weekends and holidays.
