Connect for Health has a great opportunity for a Graphic Designer.


Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace. Since 2013, we’ve been helping individuals, families and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help and buy health insurance. As Colorado’s official health insurance marketplace, we are the only place to apply for financial help to lower the monthly cost of premiums. Customers can shop online; get help by phone or online chat from Customer Service Center representatives; and access expert help from a statewide network of certified Brokers and community-based Assisters. Position Summary:


Connect for Health Colorado is looking for a graphic designer who can develop graphic elements and collateral and graphics needs. This individual will partner with the Marketing Team to enhance our online presence through graphics and support our brand through print collateral pieces. The designer will collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize on a wide range of materials including but not limited to web pages, images, presentations, collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials.


Under the direction of the Marketing and Creative Lead, this individual will need to be a creative strategist, detailed implementer, and disciplined project manager.

  

Position Responsibilities:


  • Create visual concepts and design yearly Open Enrollment collateral – posters, flyers – for print and virtual use. Follow our branding and design guidelines for all print and virtual pieces.
  • Design advertisements for print newspapers during Open Enrollment. 
  • Design social media graphics in collaboration with Marketing and Creative Lead.
  • Conceptualize visuals, update, and maintain graphics on our website in English and Spanish. 
  • Work with our advertising creative vendors to strategize and give direction on creative elements for our digital ad campaigns. 
  • Develop illustrations and other designs for annual reports, Open Enrollment report, board books, etc. 
  • Stay up to date on current design trends to keep our brand updated and fresh.
  • Work with the Outreach team to develop sponsorship ads. 
  • Develop infographics and work with the Policy and Leadership teams to help tell the story of our work.
  • Conceptualize and implement strategy for company swag items. 
  • Develop and update brand templates including but not limited to memos, PowerPoint templates, email signatures, letterheads.
  • Be a brand ambassador and keep all brand templates up to date and in brand. 
  • Work independently as well as cooperatively with the marketing team to meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  • Colorado resident
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, arts or related areas, OR Equivalent design experience with a strong portfolio of work.
  • Minimum three-five years of experience in graphic design. 
  • Proficient to advanced level skills in the Adobe suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Content layout experience, graphic layout skills and knowledge relative to web, printed material, and presentations.
  • Ability to storyboard and plan design concepts before implementing.
  • Knowledge of print vs virtual color concepts.
  • Knowledge of typography.
  • Knowledge of print process (colors, bleeds, able to direct our print vendor to ensure materials look the way they should)
  • Eye and passion for branding.
  • Attention to design detail.
  • Ability to adapt our brand guidelines.
  • Ability to strategize and give design recommendations based on the need of the request (working with other teams to ask the right questions to ensure the correct product is delivered)
  • Project timeline management.
  • Ability to deliver clear feedback and to receive and make updates or changes to work based on feedback received.
  • Ability to stay organized, juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Work Environment:

  • Currently working remotely
  • The Connect for Health Colorado office is in the North Tech Center area of Denver, near the intersection of I-25 and I-225
  • The work schedule may include some non-traditional hours, weekends and evening events.
  • Core office hours, typically 8am-5pm with some flexibility

Connect for Health Colorado offers a competitive benefits package. Using Connect for Health Colorado’s annual benefits allowance, employees may elect from various benefit offerings and tailor a package to best suit their individual needs. Connect for Health Colorado employees are eligible to participate in the organization’s 403(b) plan and are additionally provided with paid time off, short- and long-term disability and life insurance. The salary range for the position is $59,800 - $73,800.
