Description

Thermal Care is a leading manufacturer of process cooling equipment and systems for applications worldwide. As an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, Thermal Care provides heat transfer equipment for over 50 industries and specializes in meeting the specific needs of our customers by offering both standard and custom designed industrial process cooling solutions. Some of the industries served include plastics, laser, heat treating, food processing, machine tool, plating/ anodizing, chemical, die casting, optical coating, and printing.


Purpose


The Quality Manager provides leadership for the quality function and sustains the quality philosophy and team culture for the company. The quality manager role establishes, maintains, and optimizes an effective quality management system both within the systems of Thermal Care and externally within the role as Supplier Quality Assurance. This position will report to the Director of Operations and is located in Niles, Illinois.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the evaluation of finished products for quality and reliability;
  • Lead internal and external audits, corrective/preventative action systems, and Management Review meetings as ISO management representative;
  • Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System to ensure the levels of quality established through company goals and customer expectations are met;
  • Collaborates with purchasing on the development and implementation of a supplier management strategy;
  • Collaborates with engineering on new product development and design review for quality issues;
  • Travels to suppliers to participate/lead in the function of Quality Liaison;
  • Analyze and resolve process quality issues and needs as they relate to an organization’s process performance and adhering to quality requirements.
  • Manage a team of Quality Inspectors
  • Interpret Drawings and able to provide support to Engineering and / or Production regarding quality issues.
Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration a technical field (or related field) and/or ten (10)+ years of direct work experience without formal education;
  • Position typically expects up to six (6) years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of position and in area of supervision with one (1) year of leadership responsibility;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality techniques;
  • Must be able to read mechanical /electrical drawings;
  • Quality Management System lead auditing experience;
  • Experience as an ISO Management Representative is desired;
  • Demonstrate leadership, project management, facilitation, and problem solving skills;
  • Must be detail-oriented;
  • Must have a positive attitude and foster a continuous improvement environment;
  • Ability to function in a team environment;
  • Computer Experience, Microsoft Suite Programs
  • Effective verbal and communication skills.
