Description


Vydia is seeking a part time Publishing & Neighboring Rights Intern to join our team immediately.  This position will report directly to the Publishing & Neighboring Rights Manager and be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the department.  The ideal candidate will have a high-level understanding of intellectual property rights and U.S. Copyright law,  interest in content management , and a self-starting attitude.


The Publishing & Neighboring Rights Department oversees all functions related to publishing administration and collection, neighboring rights collection, monetization across platforms, partner asset management, internal catalog management, agreement review, copyright claims, and takedowns.


Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of various content management systems, including but not limited to: YouTube (Publishing), ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, Backbeat, Harry Fox, Music Reports, SoundExchange, & ex-US partners
  • Register compositions on behalf of clients with various publishing destinations
  • Identify and deliver content to neighboring rights partner(s)
  • Researching ownership conflicts and subsequently reaching out to third parties and our users to resolve
  • Day-to-day Management of any new content management systems made available
  • Executing any agreement terminations by removing content on any partner platforms
  • General asset management, including metadata matching, researching work codes, and identifying duplicates
  • Researching unclaimed works and writers for potential agreement opportunities

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required to optimize interactions both internally and externally
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to adapt to working under constantly changing priorities
  • A critical eye when reviewing current processes
  • Music industry experience a plus
  • Must be available for a minimum of six (6) months for approximately five (5) hours per day
