Broad Statement of Responsibilities: The Personal Trainer will assess the physical and health conditions of clients, create appropriate exercise plans, and monitor their improvement. They will explain applicable safety rules and regulations (e.g., use of equipment). This person will be responsible for complimentary fitness assessments for all new clients and follow up with each client ensuring they get on an exercise program suitable for their needs. Oversight of fitness center including operational needs such as regular equipment maintenance, organization, sanitation, and management of client needs.
Position Duties and Responsibilities – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identify the clients’ fitness level and health
- Oversee completion of exercise routines
- Track clients’ physical progress
- Modify exercise plans based on needs, potential injuries or health issues
- Conduct individual and group fitness training sessions
- Adopt a holistic training approach (e.g., cardiovascular exercise, strength)
- Oversee the use of fitness equipment to ensure clients exercise properly and safely
- Handle nutrition and health-related questions
- Carry out First Aid and CPR if needed
- Follow safety and hygiene guidelines
- Follow company guidelines for note taking and client/trainer relationship boundaries

Education: This position requires a high school education; degree in Kinesiology or Sports Science preferred. Personal trainer certification required.
Experience: This position requires 3+ years’ experience as a Personal Fitness trainer or related.
Special Skills & Knowledge: Candidates should have the following skills and attributes: must be able to work and communicate well with people; ability to instruct and motivate people; knowledge of diverse exercises and how to adjust plans according to each client’s needs; CPR & First Aid certification.

- Routine mobility to include standing, stooping, bending, lifting, walking and running.
- Regularly required to sit and work at a phone/computer work station
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Materials & Equipment: Copy machine, Multi-line telephone, personal computer, and fax machine
