POSITION SUMMARY
Benedictine College invites applications from kinesiology and exercise science fields with emphasis in strength and conditioning to apply for a full-time position in the rapidly growing Health, Wellness, and Exercise Science Department. This Assistant or Associate Professor position starts in August 2024. Main responsibilities pertaining to teaching:
- Sport Psychology
- Programing and Periodization
- Introduction to Personal Training
- Essentials of Strength and Conditioning
- Wellness for Life
Other potential courses to teach:
- Sport Nutrition
- Foundations of Human Movement
- Fitness courses (such as: Beginning Gymnastics, Weight Lifting, Dance Classes, etc.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching 12 credits of classes per academic semester
- Actively participate in Department meetings and growth planning
- Serve as an academic advisor to Department majors and minors
- Engage in appropriate faculty service.
- Be willing to engage in course development for emerging skills
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate should hold a master’s or terminal degree in exercise science, kinesiology, strength and conditioning, or associated fields. Doctorate degree preferred. Individuals with a personal and professional growth mindset are encouraged to apply
The following qualifications are highly preferred:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the field of strength and conditioning
Certified in at least one of the following:
- CSCS
- SCCA
- NASCA-CPT
- USAW
Post-secondary teaching experience preferred
