Sample Supports is a social services agency that offers comprehensive programs to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Unafraid of fast-paced changes and growth, we maintain high standards of service. We are unique in the industry because we believe that every individual deserves to be in the community and build programs and teams that reflect our passion for this mission. We provide a range of services including residential care, behavioral, counseling, supported living services, supported employment, and day program.
Our interns gain knowledge and expand their experience in the field to grow professionally. We strive to foster and develop creativity and excellence with our social workers. These internships often lay the foundation for future employment, as some of our Directors as well as our Chief Operating Officer have all participated in our internship program. Interns will receive 1:1 supervision on a weekly basis. In addition, there will be opportunity for additional group supervision with other licensed staff and other interns. Our supervision model incorporates standing items (i.e. individuals in services caseload, internship hours/scheduling, two-way feedback, etc.) and use of agenda. In addition, supervisors are available outside of regularly scheduled supervision by phone and/or email.
Sample Supports offers an internship focused on working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since we offer a wide range of services and supports, each internship is structured based on the individual applicant's interests. Some interns work within behavior services, where behavioral assessments, counseling, and training are the focus. Others who enjoy the residential side of things, learn the administrative pieces to ensure health and safety, get a taste of the balance of policies and procedures, and see first hand how behavioral intervention and family systems work.
