Description

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for providing sales leadership and management of opportunities and serving as a primary point of contact for regional sales opportunities. The ideal candidate will have total responsibility of managing sales and agents in the territory, to achieve quotas, and goals. This position will report to the Director of Sales and is located in Lancaster, PA.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with all support sales groups within the company;
  • Analyze sales data to determine sales strategy for the territory;
  • Promote and execute corporate sales and marketing plans as determined by the company;
  • Understand customer requirements and specifications in the process of preparing a quotation;
  • Review product design and adapt to customer needs in cooperation with R&D;
  • Visit customers as needed;
  • Introduce and present Pelletron’s program and capabilities to customers;
  • Plan and implement the quantitative objectives within budget guidelines;
  • Maintain or seek permanent contact with potential customers, in order to maintain and develop solid customer relationships with key customer base;
  • Generate order confirmations and provide them to engineering;
  • Stay abreast of customer, market and technology trends as they relate to current and future business opportunities;
  • Continuously analyze, observe, and monitor the competition to fully understand and articulate the differences between competitors;
  • Develop and support marketing strategies and advertising campaigns in coordination with marketing and management;
  • Participate in trade shows.
     
     
Requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate and manage all sales activities in the territory;
  • Direct and be responsible for assigned manufacturers’ representatives in his territory of responsibility;
  • Assign and prepare proposals;
  • Oversee and execute systematic quotation follow-up;
  • Oversee the maintenance of Gross Margin cost sheets and calculation system

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field like mechanical engineering and/or ten (10)+ years of direct work experience; 
  • Position typically expects five (5)+ years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of position;
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services;
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and respond appropriately to situations to the benefit of the customer; strong sense of urgency; ability to multitask and strong organizational skills;
  • Strong leadership, team-building skills;
  • Ability to work independently, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions;
  • Experience in writing quotations, general business correspondence, sales and technical reports;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD;
  • Working knowledge of all major Microsoft Office programs
