Industrial (Automotive) Painter
Description

Under general supervision, the industrial painter is responsible for applying paint, varnishes and similar coatings to specialized materials including, but not limited to, metal, wood, plastic and fiberglass and perform related duties as required in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. The Industrial Painter shall use various painting techniques and equipment including sprayers, rollers and brushes. Projects may include, but are not limited to, sanding, taping, prepping and painting large structures associated with amusement rides as well as park facilities and equipment. 

Requirements
  • The Industrial Painter will perform a variety of routine and preventive maintenance painting duties, such as steel and structural steel painting, sand blasting, powder blast and preparation for enamel, epoxy, bitumanstic and latex painting.
  • The Industrial Painter will prepare and paint a variety of surfaces including, aluminum, ferrous metal, uncoated metal, plate, and other surfaces as specified; protect and prime surfaces as appropriate; apply finish coatings to Mil Spec requirements.
  • The Industrial Painter will apply protective coatings to items such as miscellaneous metalwork; such as stairs, handrails and door jams, which might require wash down or abrasive cleaners.
  • The Industrial Painter will have the ability to become efficient with painting techniques
  • The Industrial Painter will correct work as directed; repair nicks, scratches or other small imperfections in the finish.
  • The Industrial Painter will ensure compliance with Federal, State and local occupational safety, health and air pollution control regulations including Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and with all safety precautions recommended by paint manufacturer.
