Job Summary

Exegy is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and thorough SDET/QA Automation Engineer to work directly with Product Development engineers in our Managed Appliance development team. The team is responsible for the development, testing, and delivery of new product feature enhancements, fixes, and maintenance updates across a range of products.


You are already or will become a product and industry expert in key areas of the trading systems domain. You will work closely with your Manager, Architect, Leads, and other Development Engineers to develop automated Verification and Validation systems, test strategies, plans, and test cases to ensure the high standard of product quality our customers expect. You will advance to mentor other team members in the domain, our products, and QA methods and processes.


This is a hybrid role located in our St Louis, MO office.


Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the full test lifecycle, including analysis & design, implementation, test execution, and release processes
  • Application of proven QA techniques and experience working with teams to fully understand requirements to develop appropriate test methods and cases
  • Execute tests and report on testing outcomes of functional and non-functional testing
  • Following direction from Manager and achieving defined goals
  • Self-management of tasks and projects to agreed deadlines
  • Developing knowledge of the trading systems domain and company products
  • Work with cross-functional team members to advise and ensure appropriate QA occurs
  • Strong client focus, with an emphasis on quality and stability in line with service level agreements

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering and/or quality assurance
  • 3+ years of experience in software development and test automation
  • 3+ years Python and/or shell scripting experience; other programming/scripting languages a plus
  • Experience with continuous integration / continuous delivery and test automation
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organizational skills

Preferred Experience Includes:

  • C++ programming experience desired
  • Capital-markets and/or Financial Services knowledge (Trading, Market Data, protocols)
  • Cross-platform experience (Linux and Microsoft Windows)
  • Experience with financial, transactional, or message-based (e.g. FIX, FIXFAST, SBE) systems
  • Practical Agile development knowledge
