Partner Veterinary is looking for a Veterinary Emergency Department Manager to join our Richmond, VA team! 


Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (PVESC) is a women founded and owned business. Core Responsibilities

  • 50% Administrative/50% Clinical LVT support – 100% in hospital 
  • Directly supervises ER and LVT’s, Veterinary Assistants, and shift leaders (24/7 – all shifts)
  • Main point of contact for questions and support from the Emergency/UC team 
  • Develop and adjust emergency schedules to maximize efficiency and adhere to established workflows, assigning roles within each shift
  • Collaborates with Hospital Steward and Team Advocates to manage day to day team member needs, including call-offs, breaks, call-ins for extra support, floating to help in other departments, and delegating tasks on shift 
  • Support team training needs and onboarding of new team members
  • Collaborate with clinical team to identify areas needing attention, process and workflow improvement
  • Collaborate with specialty departments regarding interdepartmental patient transfers
  • Assist with interviews, candidate tours, and first day introductions for new team members

    

The PVESC Emergency Department Manager is a people-focused, passionate, and highly dependable team member who plays a vital role in daily team communication, workflows, and clinical team support in the ER. As an Emergency Department Manager, you will manage, collaborate, and facilitate information sharing within the hospital, clinical team members, and pet families.  


You will work closely with team members and doctors to guarantee smooth and consistent workflows in the ER and Urgent Care, as well as collaboration with specialty departments.  The ER Department Manager will promote a culture of collaboration, support growth and development, and foster a supportive environment for our team.

Our 20,000 square foot reimagined building and team design includes:

  • Conscious and deliberate building design layout that encourages interdepartmental communication and collaboration
  • Unique support roles that enable our team to practice at your highest level
    Ample fluid pumps, syringe pumps, and monitoring equipment to enable quality patient care
  • Scribes document exams and facilitate discharging appointments 
  • Care Advocates perform client communications, review estimates, and grief discussions to promote continuity of care 
  • Onsite advanced diagnostics, such as MRI, CT, Fluoroscopy and more

    

Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in a veterinary technician role
  • 3+ years experience in leadership or management role
  • Credentialed Technician “in good standing” in your current state and eligible to transfer registration to Virginia
  • Soft skills

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to enable successful lines of communication between team members and pet families

Physical Requirements (able to)

  • Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
  • Stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
