Description

PSCU is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager in Credit Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Credit Solutions Manager in overseeing the credit solutions department and ensuring efficient operations. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement effective collection strategies to reduce delinquency, prioritize at-risk accounts, and increase recoveries.
  • Ensure that collection policies and procedures are being maintained.
  • Assist with collection transactions, such as foreclosures, repossessions, and delinquency queues.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and follow up to ensure payments are made.
  • Recommend extension requests, troubled debt restructurings, and ensure that loan modifications are reasonable and beneficial to the member and the credit union.
  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators related to collections.
  • Oversee the Credit Solutions team, provide performance feedback as needed, mentoring and training. 
  • Assist members with inquiries regarding their accounts, and record information about the financial status of members and status of collection efforts.
  • Analyze challenges and identify solutions promptly.
  • Work closely with legal partners regarding member accounts and bankruptcy.
  • Prepare month end reports for the Board of Directors and Executive Team to review.
  • Train employees in effective collection techniques and provide ongoing mentorship to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Provide performance feedback to the Credit Solutions employees, discipline employees, as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging collections and debt recovery technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements
  • Proficiency in computer usage, including Office 365 SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Embraces and embodies the PSCU organizational culture and acts as a brand ambassador.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach to work.
  • Demonstrates personal financial responsibility, integrity, and high work ethics.
  • A strong understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and bankruptcy laws. Familiarity with these regulations ensures compliance and ethical practices.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Timely follow-up on accounts and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Satisfactory attendance record.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or job-related certification
  • 5 years of experience of Collections experience, or related experience
  • Education requirements may be waived with sufficient related work experience.
