Matrix Plastic Products is a fast-growing, family-owned, ISO-certified manufacturer of high-precision components for the medical device industry. We have been in business since 1978 and are accepting applications to fill the on-site Tax & Accounting Manager position. This role may lead to other future leadership opportunities. Under the direction of the CEO & CFO, the Tax & Accounting Manager: helps to oversee company-wide tax, payroll and accounting compliance, financial planning, forecasting, job costing analysis, approves budgets, loans, major equipment purchases, accounting, and all legal agreements. The candidate will also assist the Human Resource department with compliance and EEOC matters. The environment is relaxed yet dynamic and offers unique challenges related to the manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for the candidate who wishes to broaden their skills as a tax and accounting generalist. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Subchapter S corporation tax rules and experience in multistate tax issues (nexus, compliance, Wayfair, etc.) with a broader interest in payroll, human resources, legal, banking, insurance, and general accounting matters.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES


  • Preparation of all income and sales tax forms, estimates and planning for corporation and shareholders
  • Provide oversight of daily finance and accounting functions
  • Prepare and manage company’s financial statements & reporting
  • Perform risk assessments for major investments & finances
  • Prepare and manage all company budgets and forecasts
  • Perform Federal and State tax research on all tax matters impacting the corporation and shareholders
  • Assist owners and shareholders on tax compliance matters
  • Prepare and monitor compliance with bank covenants
  • Consult with outside CPA, auditors, and/or attorney advisers, when necessary, on tax and legal issues
  • Oversee 401(k) plan and assist HR in key benefit areas
Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • 3-5 years of tax compliance experience
  • Passthrough tax experience with S corporations
  • CPA certificate or equivalent knowledge
  • Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Multi-state sales and income tax experience
  • Knowledge of state nexus and registration rules
  • Payroll & HR experience preferred
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication and problem-solving skills

COMPENSATION

  • Starting salary range commensurate with experience
  • Typical workweek: 45 hours (Mon-Fri)
  • Position is eligible for a discretionary performance bonus
