CNC Mill Machinist

We are looking for an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to program and operate Mazak mills in our moldmaking department. 


Job Duties:

 

  • Programming CNC Machines: Writing and modifying CNC programs to produce parts according to specifications using G-code and other programming languages.
  • Setup and Calibration: Setting up CNC machines, including loading materials, installing tooling, and calibrating equipment to ensure accurate production.
  • Operation Monitoring: Operating CNC machinery, monitoring the production process, and adjusting settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure they meet design specifications and tolerances.
  • Machine Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to understand the specifications and dimensions of the parts to be manufactured.
  • Tool Management: Selecting, installing, and managing cutting tools and attachments necessary for different machining tasks.
  • Production Planning: Planning and prioritizing production runs to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience with close-tolerance tooling is a must
  • Minimum 1-year experience programming and running a CNC mill; Mazak experience is a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to set up workpieces directly from 3D data
  • Ability to inspect workpieces to 3D data
  • Knowledge of NX or SolidWorks software a plus
  • Self-starter who can work with limited supervision
  • Communicates and works well with others

Compensation:

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour (depending on experience)


Hours:

Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week (Mon-Fri); this position is in-person.
