Description
In this role, you will support project leaders in managing and executing a variety of construction projects, both new and existing, from start to finish. This position involves a blend of fieldwork and office work, contributing to assessments, design, construction observations, quality assurance, and consulting services related to building envelope systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Condition Assessments: Conduct evaluations of existing building envelope systems and structures (e.g., glazing, cladding, roofing, waterproofing, parking deck) to identify and assess their condition.
- Investigations and Reporting: Investigate distress conditions or failures in building systems and prepare technical reports with findings and recommendations.
- Repair Specifications: Develop details and specifications for repairing or restoring existing building structures and systems.
- Design Consulting: Provide building envelope consulting services for construction projects, offering guidance on material selection and design details.
- Field Documentation: Accurately document and communicate field conditions to the project leader and team for effective analysis and problem-solving.
- Project Management: Assist in various project management tasks, such as: reviewing preconstruction submittals and shop drawings; scheduling project activities and ensuring timely implementation; responding to RFIs and reviewing payment applications; leading or attending project meetings and inspecting ongoing construction; coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, including consultants, architects, engineers, owners, and contractors; managing project closeout tasks, including the development of record drawings and punch list reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Science, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 7 plus years of construction-related experience, with a background in building envelope systems.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, including terminology, building materials, and field investigation methods related to building performance.
- Relevant certifications through ACI, ICRI, or IIBEC are a plus.

Salary Description
$75,000 - $100,000 annually
